MAC AND CHEESE

Serves: 4-8

Ingredients


  • 1 Box of Noodles
  • Broccoli

CHEESE SAUCE

  • 3 1/2 Cup Boiling Water
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 1/2 Cup Flour
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Pinch of Turmeric
  • 1/4 Cup Oil
  • 1 Cup Nutritional Yeast

Directions


  1. Cook noodles accordingly, strain and put into a baking pan.

  2. Cut broccoli into bite sized chunks, steam until cooked and then place into the baking pan with the noodles.

  3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

CHEESE SAUCE

  1. Boil 3 1/2 cups of water.

  2. In a medium (thick bottomed) pot, on medium-low heat, melt the butter.

  3. Add the flour to the pot and whisk until smooth and bubbly.

  4. Slowly add the boiling water to the pot, whisking the entire time.

  5. Add salt, soy sauce, garlic powder and turmeric to the pot.

  6. Turn heat up and cook sauce until thick, stirring occasionally.

  7. Add oil and nutritional yeast and continue to cook another few minutes.

ASSEMBLE

  1. Pour sauce over noodles and stir to combine.

  2. Bake for 15 minutes.

Notes:
I like using the rice noodles from trader joes.
