ENCHILADA SAUCE

Ingredients


  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne
  • 3/4 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 2 – 8oz. Cans of Tomato Paste
  • 1 Cup + 1/4 Cup Water

Directions


  1. In a medium sized, thick bottom pan, put olive oil, flour and chili powder. Whisk to combine and place on medium heat.

  2. Whisk cumin, cayenne, garlic powder and onion powder in a bowl.

  3. Add the tomato paste and 1 cup of water to the bowl of spices. Add the additional 1/4 cup of water as needed.

  4. Add this to the pan, turn the heat down low, whisk and cook for 10-15 minutes.

Notes:
The sauce might bubble and spit, just whisk it as it thickens.
